Akriti is dedicated towards each and every child.
To instill confidence and empower them to face all challenges.

Akriti, which is a brain child of Dr. Bindu Srinath, was established on June 23, 2018. Although, Dr. Bindu has been working one-on-one with children for over a decade; it is the support and encouragement of the parents that has helped in establishing it as full-fledged center.

We, at Akriti, are humbled with the overwhelming response received from parents, school teachers, schools, care-takers & tuition teachers over the past year. Akriti has had the opportunity to conduct many awareness/sensitization workshops on Learning Difficulties in several schools in Chennai.

At Akriti, we provide One-On-One Remedial Classes. As our motto states “Every Child Matters”. We first assess the child’s strengths. The lesson plan is individualized and is modified on a day to day basis based on the child’s understanding and method of learning.

Our teachers help each child, with special education needs, with great passion, endless patience and innovative methodologies. They deal with the complexities of their academic difficulties with greater ease and assist the child in strategically carving a niche in their specific area of excellence.

At Akriti, we believe that “Movement is the window to learning” (Paul Dennison). Movement sharpens not just ones physical skill, it also sharpens ones mental abilities. We offer various therapies and activities for the same.

It includes – BLISS Movement Therapy, Brain Gym, Yoga and Pre-Skill Activities.

BLISS Movement therapy: BLISS is an Integrated Movement Therapy, which incorporates several movements from varied fields like Occupational Therapy, Brain Gym, Yoga and other traditional game movements. This helps to increase gross and fine motor skills. It also helps with the child’s sense of balance and help them in their confidence levels.

Brain Gym: Brain Gym activities are uniquely designed to fulfill specific physical requirements that learners encounter in the class room. While any physical education may “wake up” the brain, the 26 brain gym movements further foster flexibility, eye teaming, and hand-eye coordination that allow learners to thrive in the classroom. This gives them the ability to live happily and creatively amid the stressors of modern life. The 26 Brain Gym activities support the development of key sensorimotor abilities – readiness skills – that make learning easier and more pleasurable.

Yoga: Yoga, which is a way of life, is characterized by balance, health, harmony and meditation. Practicing Yoga helps children in classroom because they are calmer and find it easier to pay attention and complete tasks.

Pre Skill Activities: Pre-skill activities help develop/ strengthen the child’s fine motor and gross motor skills. Many of our children have challenges doing simple daily activities, such as buttoning, tying shoe lace, holding a pencil, beading etc. This in later stage is seen as difficulty in writing, reading or in other academic areas.

We also provide Speech Therapy.

Speech Therapy: Speech therapy is an intervention service that focuses on improving a child's speech and abilities to understand and express language, including nonverbal language.
