About our Founder

Dr. Bindu, a Dentist by profession, was introduced to the world of learning difficulties while working with her own son.

For the last decade, she has undergone the entire gamut of experiences as a parent – working with schools, psychologists, occupational therapists, remedial instruction etc. She remembers the times when she was desperately reaching out for help - if only someone could point her in the right direction!

This experience planted the seed of forming Akriti. Dr. Bindu’s dream is to have a one-stop facility which can help parents to understand the requirements of their children, and provide the necessary resources to help them cope.

Dr. Bindu is a trained Remedial Instructor, certified by MDA. She is a Certified International Brain Gym Instructor and Consultant. She is also a trained Orton Gillingham Instructor.

At Akriti, various other methods such as Davis Learning Strategies, Jolly Phonics and Movement Based Learning are used to help make learning interesting and fun for these children. Her experience in working with children with varied skills, has helped her develop a unique methodology where a customized combination of the above techniques has helped the child blossom.

Dr. Bindu believes in excellence being defined by Happy Children, with high self-confidence and self esteem. This, she believes, will be the corner stone upon which they will be able to pursue success in whatever area they are gifted to excel in.

Her aim at Akriti is to provide a loving, trusting environment where children are helped with learning and concentration techniques, to help them cope with their academic challenges.

Helping a child discover her self confidence, and making her believe she can pass her exams and graduate to the next class, is a matter of far greater happiness for Dr. Bindu, than seeing 90+ overall percentage in the final exams!

Every Child Matters - let’s make every child happy! Dr. Bindu feels truly blessed to have the opportunity to work on helping children discover their potential - both by directly working with the children, as well as through training and sensitization programs for teacher’s, parent’s and caretakers.
